Description
The 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) is the latest edition of this essential resource for the plumbing industry. Developed through the ANSI Consensus process, it incorporates input from diverse stakeholders, including consumers, authorities, installers, manufacturers, and experts. The UPC balances safety and sanitation with innovation and technological advancements. Key updates in the 2024 edition include new provisions for tileable shower receptors, temperature-actuated flow reduction devices, all-gender facilities, water supply and distribution manifolds, hot-water recirculating systems, private well water tanks, appliance condensate drains, and non-potable water systems. Additionally, the code introduces new appendices addressing non-sewered sanitation systems, inspector qualifications, indoor horticultural facilities, and tiny house plumbing requirements. By adopting the 2024 UPC, professionals can ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable plumbing systems.
